Chavane 04a

When an artist settles down in various places around the world it generally means more sensibility and sources of inspiration and finally the artist becomes a writer or an explorer giving lectures here and there.
Berenice Chavane (° 1958) has chosen another line, she is involved in plastic art but at the same time she is a stylist and writes as journalist for decoration magazines.

She studied for year in various places and finally at the famous Ecole du Louvre in Paris.

She then worked for some important “names” creating personalised material for Winter or various objects and material for Manuel Canovas.

She is now along the rails to show her canvas or gouaches, generally inspired by the feminine universe. Women are walking side-by-side, chatting along the streets or dancing in some party. The woman is there and everywhere like she is in our European countries.

By use of mixed medias, Berenice Chavane explores more ambiences but seems more involved in paintings with collages generally close to the Oriental atmosphere.

After more exhibitions here and there, including in the Ré Island where the visitors elected her, she is now facing another sensibility in Brussels, in a country completely involved in the story of painting and painters.

Just at the border between abstract art and figurative art her 2007 exhibition is something you have to discover as soon as possible.
